Asia Pacific College (APC) proudly announces another remarkable achievement as four of its students from the School of Computing and Information Technologies (SoCIT) emerged as champions in the 4th Hack4Gov Regional competition. This prestigious Capture the Flag (CTF) competition for students was held on November 3 at Seda Vertis North.
This year’s Hack4Gov competition was a formidable challenge, bringing together 20 teams from 14 different schools across the National Capital Region. Amidst intense competition, the APC team, competing under the name “Akira: Requiem,” demonstrated exceptional skill, strategic thinking, and technical prowess, ultimately securing the top spot.
The champion team was composed of the following SoCIT students:
- Justin Clark Ong (Team Leader, BSCS-SF)
- Edwin Gumba Jr. (BSCS-SS)
- Angelo John Benedict Laus (BSCS-SF)
- Jhon Lloyd Nicolas (BSCS-SS)
In addition to the team’s victory, Justin Clark Ong was individually recognized as the top-performing student of the entire competition, a testament to his outstanding expertise and leadership.
This victory affirms APC’s steadfast commitment to delivering globally benchmarked education in information technology and cybersecurity. The team’s success reflects the integrity, creativity, and boundless potential of APC students.
Akira: Requiem will now advance to represent the National Capital Region at the upcoming Hack4Gov nationals, which will be held on December 9.
